Best Travel Credit Cards
In the last few weeks, I have lost count of the times friends and acquaintances have reached out to me with the same question: “With as much as you travel, which credit card do you like the best?
My answer is the same, regardless of whether they do a lot of international travel or prefer regional road-tripping.
Are you looking for a card that offers baggage delay insurance, primary insurance coverage for rental cars worldwide plus travel protection, while also allowing you to earn transferable rewards points? Look no further than the Chase Sapphire card! This reliable card provides excellent benefits without a hefty annual fee.
Chase has 14 airline and hotel transfer partners, including United, Air France/KLM Flying Blue, Emirates, Virgin Atlantic, Hyatt, and Marriott. You are able to transfer to all of Chase’s transfer partners at a 1-to-1 ratio which means you could transfer 29,000 points to AirFrance to fly in economy to Europe. Or, if you’re feeling fancy, transfer 50,000 points to Virgin Atlantic to travel to Europe in Business class. Last year I used 60,000 miles, plus $48 to fly from Newark to Athens in Emirates’ Business class.
Not only does the Sapphire have some great travel benefits, but currently you can get a 6-month complimentary Instacart + membership, a monthly $10 Gopuff credit, and a DoorDash membership all by using your card as the payment method!
Chase has an elevated signup bonus right now of 80,000 points (worth at least $1000 once transferred) but also allows cardholders easy ways to earn points through regular spending. If you’re looking to add a card that will make your money work for you while subsidizing new travel experiences this card is for you!
